teething

Is your baby teething? Here is the toothy check-list :

  • Most babies will cut their first tooth by one year. Is your baby between the ages of four and nine months?
  • Run a clean finger over the gum, can you feel the tooth or can you see it?
  • Does your baby have sore and tender gums, flushed cheeks or general inflammation in the mouth?
  • Any dribbling or excessive chewing?

Hints and tips

  • Give your baby something to chew on – a clean teething ring or a toy that has been sterilized and chilled in the fridge can be soothing.
  • Try offering your baby a cold bottle of water or diluted juice. This can also help replenish your baby's fluid levels when dribbling is excessive.
  • It may help to massage the gums with a clean, cool finger.
  • If the constant dribbling is causing sore skin, redness or a rash, try to keep the area dry and apply a barrier cream to protect and soothe the skin.

As the teething process can go on for up to 18 months lots of parents prefer to find a natural remedy that will work in tune with their baby's body and one that is safe enough to be used ‎every day - just like Nelsons Teetha Teething granules.
